Cookies and storage
Last updated 26 August 2026
The short version
This site sets no cookies of its own. It stores one value in your browser, and only after you answer the notice at the foot of the screen. There is no analytics of ours, no advertising script and no tracking across other sites.
Cookies and local storage, briefly
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep and send back on the next request. Local storage is a related mechanism: the browser keeps a value on your device, but it is never sent automatically with a request. SceneProbe uses the second one, once, and for a single purpose.
What is actually stored
- Strictly necessary: none. The pages are static files and need nothing kept on your device in order to be read.
- Preference: one entry in local storage under the key sp:consent, holding your answer to the notice so it is not shown to you again. It stays until you clear your browser data and it is never sent to us.
- Analytics of ours: none. No audience measurement is written into these pages.
- Advertising or marketing: none. The site carries no advertising and no marketing identifiers.
Cloudflare
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc. as a content network. Cloudflare may insert a measurement script of its own into the pages it serves, reporting the page address, the referrer, page-loading measurements, browser and device type and the country derived from your IP address. That script sets no cookies and does not follow you to other sites. It is added at network level rather than written into our files, which is why it is described here rather than listed as one of our own scripts.
Your choice, and how to change it
Accepting or declining the notice writes the same single value; nothing is switched on or off by it, because there is nothing here to switch. If you would like the notice again, clear the site data for sceneprobe.com in your browser settings and the stored value goes with it.
Every current browser also lets you block or delete cookies and site data generally, usually under privacy or site settings. Doing so has no effect on how these pages read.
The rules this follows
Storage on your device is governed in Ireland by S.I. No. 336/2011, the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011, alongside the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the Data Protection Act 2018. The supervisory authority is the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, www.dataprotection.ie.
